Reminder- 10-Minute Party

We’d like to invite you to stay after Sunday service for our 10-Minute Party.  We’ll provide some light snacks to tide you over till lunch.  We’re hoping this time after service will help give us a chance to get to know some of your new faces.  So, don’t rush off; meet someone new; catch up with an old friend.

Reminder- Hospitality

If you’d like to get involved helping with hospitality, please click here to contact Micki.  We need a few willing people to help set up and clean up the bagels and coffee on Sunday mornings.  This will be on a rotation basis, not every single week.  Also, you will receive instructions on the process.

Hoedown!

Hoedown (n) a social gathering at which lively folk dancing takes place.

Get ready for our first ever Downtown Vineyard Hoedown this November 13th.  We’re planning for a Chili Cook-Off and some awesome Square Dancing!  More details coming soon.

Mission Support Opportunity

James and LaDonna Spruill will be going Mexico this winter on a scouting mission trip.  They are going as ambassadors from our church to gather information and create a partnership with missionary Tim Meyer in Zacatecas, Mexico.

James and LaDonna need prayer support and financial support.  If you feel led to give financially, please write your check to Downtown Vineyard with “Mexico Missions” in the memo.  You can mail checks to the church’s address (at the bottom of this email) or put them in the offering box during service.

College Small Group

Ken and Micki will be hosting a small group for college students in their Red Bank home.  The small group will meet on Tuesday evenings at 6.30.  Free food.  Click here to contact Micki.

Church Work Day

We’re having a church work day at Memorial on Saturday, October 24th from 10am-2pm.  Please come help us as we organize and declutter and give everything a general once-over.

Church Picnic Postponed

Ok, so the picnic that was scheduled for today has been moved to next Sunday. It’s been all gray and rainy today, and Weather.com shows that we have a 30% chance of having a awesome time next week. So, go ahead and eat al that potato salad you made yesterday and make a fresh batch next week. So you there!

Church Picnic

Join us for a picnic immediately following service on Sunday, September 20th. We’ll be eating together at Coolidge Park. Pack a lunch, and bring some to share. We hope you can make it!
College students do not need to bring any food, but bring a frisbee or football if you want

Small Group Sign-Up

Folks will have an opportunity to sign up for small groups this coming Sunday.

We are going to encourage the groups that form to “govern” themselves and come up with a plan that works for them. For example, a group may decide to meet twice a month instead of every week. The group may decide for one meeting to just have the ladies meet while the guys watch the kids. The most important thing that we ask is for the groups to adhere to content set forth (check out Bucky’s blog for info).
